Powerflex fitting kits are the small details that make a big difference in suspension and exhaust mounts. Each kit comes with polyurethane bushes and the sleeves, washers or shims needed to get the fit just right. Our kits, such as the CAST12 or CABA1, are designed for specific applications. So there’s no guessing about what fits where. These polyurethane bushes are firmer than rubber, which means mounts hold better under load while still dampening some vibration.
We’ve seen the difference it can make on cars where the standard hangers wobble or sag. A quick swap can make a rear hanger sit straighter or a control arm feel more precise. Sometimes there’s a little more road noise through the cabin, which isn’t a fault, just a quirk of firmer bushings. They’re built to last, resist oils and weather. So you won’t be swapping them every year.
Why polyurethane bushes matter
Polyurethane bushes keep their shape better than rubber, usually meaning handling feels sharper and pedals respond more consistently. They’re not completely silent though, so expect a slightly different feel. A few things we always point out when fitting:
- Durability: polyurethane holds up in all conditions. Oil, dirt, heat, winter spray, it doesn’t sag like rubber.
- Precision: tighter tolerances reduce movement at mounts, often improving handling and keeping flanges aligned.
- Fitment: the kits include all sleeves and hardware, which makes the install smoother, fewer trips back to the bench.
It’s the kind of detail that helps workshops and DIYers avoid little annoyances during fitting. Sometimes a sleeve will need careful alignment, maybe a light grease layer or a gentle tap instead of brute force. It’s all part of getting it right.
Fitting notes and tips
Expect some fiddly moments. Some bushes need careful pressing, sleeves can catch if forced. Stop and reassess rather than hammering, heat lightly if needed. That’s part of the install process, small errors happen but it’s usually easy to fix.
Anthony is arranging photos of the new range, so once they’re ready it’ll be easier to see exactly what’s in each kit. Each page on our website shows the product clearly with cast numbers, sizes and all the hardware included. It’s designed so you can pick the kit, fit it and get back on the road without surprises. Even for minor adjustments, a proper fit makes the car feel more planted, which is exactly what the kits are for.
